The Hungarian guitarist Gabor Podhorszky started learning music at his age of 14 and a couple of years later his interest turned into classical guitar. He studied guitar and chamber music at the Faculty of Music of the University of Szeged, Hungary where he obtained his first diploma. In 2007 he graduated at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, The Netherlands where he also studied baroque guitar and historical performance. Gabor has participated on a number of master classes. He has performed as a soloist and as a member of different chamber music groups in Hungary and around Europe and premiered new works for the instrument as well. He won first prize at the Transylvania International Guitar Competition in Cluj-Napoca, Romania (2007). He gives concerts and master classes regularly on international guitar festivals. Recently he lives in England where he teaches and performs.

Podhorszky Gábor tizennégy éves korában kezdte zenei tanulmányait, de csak néhány év elteltével kezdett érdeklődni a klasszikusgitár iránt. A Szegedi Egyetemen tanult gitárt és kamarazenét, itt szerezte első diplomáját. 2007-ben diplomázott a hágai Royal Conservatory-ban, ahol többek között tanult barokk gitárt. Gábor több mesterkurzuson vett részt, szólistaként és különböző kamarazenekarok tagjaként is szép sikereket ért el, emellett zeneszerzéssel is foglalkozik. Napjainkban Nagy Britanniában él, ott tanít és tart mesterkurzusokat.
